The Pigeon Detectives’ second album gets a release 52 weeks after their debut album. Again, this Leeds-based punk band make an old school style punk album. Powerful and angry, with influence from The Undertones, The Clash, etc. Almost all the tracks are within or around 3 minutes, Emergency sound even better.

The Lodger – Life Is Sweet

Second album from Leeds trio The Lodger, a follow up to 2006’s Grown-Ups. They have replaced their drummer for the new album. Life Is Sweet is still an album full of joy and sunshine, a hymn to life.
 
Outstanding track: ‘The Good Old Days’.

Debut album from London’s Cajun Dance Party, The Colourful Life which is said to be the first of two albums this year, this nine tracks album featuring all of four previous singles. Syth-pop leading tracks are all across the albums, this makes Canjun Dance Party unique in recent garage revivial bands.

Second album from the band who formed from the ashes of The Unicorns, Islands, another band from Canada. Arm’s Way is a follow up to 2006’s Return To The Sea. The new album is made electic between pop and experimental with song length over ten minutes.
 
Outstanding track: ‘Creeper’.

Third album from Lowgold, first for five years, after the trouble with the record company, the band get to release the album by themselves. Promise Lands is what the band wants to have a new start by making this album, but it sounds still heartbreaking as Lowgold did before.

The return of Manchester legend band James, who reunited last year with their first album since 2001. Nothing changes except the age of the members, James are still charming and passionate. Hey Ma recalls the classic sound of Seven era, the reunion is a must for James.
