#07037 Ocean Colour Scene

Ocean Colour Scene – On The Leyline
UK: 30th Apr – Moseley Shoals

Birmingham’s brit-pop veteran OCS existed before the brit-pop movement, they appeared in the times of Stone Roses and now they’re still alive. With the departure of the bass player Damon, the band recruited two new members, one for bass and another one for guitar to complete a five-piece line-up. On The Leyline is their 8th studio album and is also the first studio album to be released on their own label Moseley Shoals which is named after their most famous album title. You’ll like it if you’re an OCS fan, the ever changing mod style.

Outstanding track: ‘I Told You So’.

#07032 Sister Vanilla

Sister Vanilla – Little Pop Rock
UK: 2nd Apr – Chemikal Underground

Even though a Japanese records P-Vine had released this records two years ago in Japan region, it’s still new to us as Glasgow’s very own label Chemikal Underground gave a brand new cover and re-order of trackinglisting and also an extra track to Sister Vanilla, who consists not only Linda Reid but her legendary indie brothers William and Jim, also long time Jesus & Mary Chain fellow Ben Lurie. This record can be regarded as a warm-up to the reformation of Jesus & Mary Chain.

Polytechnic – Down Til Dawn

Polytechnic, a name that is more electronic than indie, the band show nothing electronic on their truly indie debut album. Early singles were put out by the promising Transgressive label. And remember they are from Manchester.

#07028/29 Manic Street Preachers/Travis

Manic Street Preachers – Send Away The Tigers
UK: 7th May – Columbia

Welsh’s finest band sung in English, their 8th album comes shortly after the solo albums by James Dean Bradfield & Nicky Wire last year. Now the duo back with the drummer to create a Manics album. Send Away The Tigers contains ten tracks and a hidden track, Working Class Hero, a cover from John Lennon. Highlight from the album is the song Your Love Alone which they duet with The Cardigans front woman Nina Persson, think Little Baby Nothing meets A Design For Life.

Outstanding tracks: "Your Love Alone Is Not Enough" & "Autumn Song".

Travis – The Boy With No Name
UK: 7th May – Independiente

The band with a boy name comes back with the boy with no name, no one knows anything the title to do with the album. In spite of this, we got an album full of ballad, over three years of making this album, Travis proves us the truth that ballad never dies.

Outstanding track: "Closer".
