The Good, The Bad & The Queen – The Good, The Bad & The Queen

This is the new project from mainman of Blur and Gorillaz, Damon Albarn along with ex Verve and Blur session guitarist Simon Tong, The Clash bassist Paul Simonon and Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen. The Good, The Bad & The Queen sounds either like Blur or Gorillaz, produced by Danger Mouse who is well known for mix Beatles’ White Album with Jay-Z’s Black Album into the Grey Album. The keyboards play an import part which make some ambience which you have never heard from Damon.

Peter Bjorn And John – Writer’s Block

This is already the third album from the Swedish twee trio, before the mega hit ‘Young Folks’ PBJ was almost unknown, the summer hip track is a duet with ex Concretes vocalist Victoria Bergsman. But disapointly Writer’s Block hadn’t offered ten other Young Folks.
Outstanding track: ‘Young Folks’.

Idlewild – Make Another World
UK: 5th Mar – Sequel
Fifth album from Scotland’s Idlewild, their first since thier part away with previous label Parlophone/EMI. The new Sanctuary offshot Sequel (also new home to The Cooper Temple Clause) is handling thier new career. Make Another World, the title says, ten new tracks see the band try to reborn as a new band who will not be labelled punk. They remain us of some kinda old tunes from the 80’s, frontman Roddy even made a folk debut last year. Just make another world if you are tired of the old place.
Outstanding track: ‘Make Another World’.
