#07075 The Enemy

The Enemy – We’ll Live And Die In These Towns
UK: 9th Jul – WEA

Coventry’s punk outfit The Enemy becomes the first signing of the reborn indie legendary label Stiff, who released their first single over 20 years, although The Enemy had their album out via the major WEA. Well Live And Die In These Towns is one of the finest debut of the year, not just a simple punk band.

Outstanding tracks: ‘Away From Here’, ‘Had Enough’ & ‘It’s Not OK’.

#07074 Interpol

Interpol – Our Love To Admire
US: 10th Jul – Capitol
UK: 9th Jul – Parlophone

First major debut for Interpol doesn’t means their music can be major, but it gets darker. The NYC post punkers had two albums for Matador, now they move to Capitol (accordingly Parlophone in UK) to get their third. Daker than Joy Division.

#07073 Dogs

Dogs – Tall Stories From Under The Table
UK: 18th Jun – Weekender

Beware all bands named after a certain animal, these Dogs are from London, Tall Stories are telling in their second album. After being dropped from major Island, Dogs sign to newly formed indie Weekender. Still proves that they are just a angry punk band.

Outstanding tracks: ‘Dirty Little Shop’ & ‘Soldier On’.

#07072 The Thrills

The Thrills – Teenager
UK: 23rd Jul – Virgin

Dublin’s The Thrills should have been a Californian band, with their sunshine and beach, sweet harmony and piano, all reminds of the 70s. Teenager is the third album from this Irish five piece, not bad but not good enough.

Outstanding track: ‘Nothing Changes Round Here’.
